What you need

  • 7 Wonders base game: 7 Wonder boards (both sides), 3 age card decks (I/II/III), war conflict tokens, coin tokens

Setup

  1. Give each player a random Wonder board (side A recommended for first game). Each Wonder has 3 build stages with costs printed on it.
  2. Each player starts with 3 coins.
  3. Prepare 3 decks: Age I, Age II, Age III cards. Include the correct number based on player count (7 cards per age per player + Guilds in Age III).
  4. Sit in a circle. Passing direction alternates: Age I passes LEFT, Age II passes RIGHT, Age III passes LEFT.

How to play

  1. OBJECTIVE: Score the most total VP after 3 ages via civil buildings, science, military wins, wonder stages, coins, and guilds.
  2. AGE STRUCTURE: Each age plays like this — (1) Deal 7 cards to each player, (2) Everyone SIMULTANEOUSLY picks 1 card to play/build/discard, (3) Reveal choices at once, (4) Pass remaining hand to your neighbor, (5) Repeat until 6 cards played and the 7th is discarded, (6) Military resolution.
  3. 3 CHOICES EACH TURN: (A) BUILD the card — pay its resource cost from your own production or by BUYING from a neighbor (2 coins per resource, paid to that neighbor unless they have a trade discount). (B) BUILD A WONDER STAGE — flip the card face-down under your next open wonder slot; pay that stage's cost (not the card's cost). (C) DISCARD for 3 coins.
  4. CARD CHAINING: Some cards show 'free build' icons — if you own the earlier chain card, you can build the later one for FREE in a later age.
  5. RESOURCE PRODUCTION: Brown cards (raw: wood, stone, clay, ore) and gray cards (manufactured: glass, papyrus, textile) produce resources during other players' 'buy' actions too — even if used elsewhere, brown/gray cards produce whenever you or your neighbor needs.
  6. MILITARY RESOLUTION (end of each age): Compare your red shield total (from red cards) to LEFT neighbor and RIGHT neighbor. Winner of each comparison earns +1 (Age I) / +3 (Age II) / +5 (Age III) VP token. Loser takes a −1 defeat token per loss.
  7. SCIENCE (green cards): 3 symbols — compass, tablet, gear. Each SET of all 3 different = 7 VP. Each SAME symbol quantity² = VP (1²=1, 2²=4, 3²=9, 4²=16, 5²=25).
  8. GUILDS (purple, Age III only): Score based on cards YOU or your neighbors have — read each carefully before drafting.
  9. GAME END SCORING: Add points from — military tokens, coins (÷3), Wonder stages (varies), civil (blue), commerce (yellow), guilds (purple), science (green formula).
