What you need

  • 2 decks + 4 jokers

Setup

  1. Deal 11 cards each (partners across). Flip top card to start discard.

How to play

  1. Turn: draw 2 cards, meld sets of 3+ of same rank (with wilds ≤ half meld).
  2. A canasta = 7 cards of same rank (500 pt natural, 300 pt mixed).
  3. Freeze pile when 3s/wilds discarded.
  4. Round ends when someone 'goes out' (needs at least 1 canasta). First team to 5000 wins.
