Croquet

What you need

• Croquet set: 6 mallets, 6 balls, 9 wickets, 2 stakes

Setup

1. Lay out the standard 9-wicket, 2-stake course on the lawn.
2. Assign each player a color.

How to play

1. Hit your ball through the wickets in order.
2. Extra shot for passing through a wicket or hitting a stake.
3. Hit another player's ball = 'roquet' — 2 bonus shots and option to send them flying.
4. First player through the full course and hitting the finish stake wins.

• Check the weather — have a rain plan.
• Set clear boundaries so kids/pets don't wander off.
• Rotate teams so everyone plays with everyone.
