What you need
- A large tree stump (flat top)
- 1 nail per player
- 1 cross-peen hammer
Setup
- Start each nail with a few taps into the stump.
- Players stand in a circle.
How to play
- Take turns hitting your OWN nail with the peen (thin end) of the hammer.
- Only one swing per turn — no do-overs.
- Miss and hit the stump = pass (some rules: drink).
- First player to sink their nail flush wins.
Host tips
- Check the weather — have a rain plan.
- Set clear boundaries so kids/pets don't wander off.
- Rotate teams so everyone plays with everyone.
